Joyce K. Mundahl, O.D. is an Optometrist at Northwest Eye practicing comprehensive optometry, including the treatment and management of ocular pathology with a specialty in family eye care, as well as contact lenses services for both adult and pediatric patients.
Dr. Mundahl is certified by the Minnesota State Board of Optometry and the National Board of Examiners in Optometry. She brings more than 35 years of experience to Northwest Eye and has been an active member of Northwest Eye’s respected team of doctors for 17 years.
Dr. Mundahl completed her undergraduate education at Moorhead State University and her doctoral studies at the Illinois College of Optometry. She then pursued additional training in ocular disease treatment at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry.
Dr. Mundahl lives in Minnetonka with her husband, Andy. They have two adult sons who live and work in the Twin Cities. Outside of her practice, she enjoys traveling, reading, scrapbooking, golfing and volunteering. Math and science were Dr. Mundahl’s favorite subjects in school and after receiving her first pair of contacts at age 14, she knew the field of optometry was the perfect fit for her interests and talents.
Dr. Mundahl finds her work fitting babies with contact lenses to improve their vision following surgery for congenital cataracts a very rewarding part of her career. However, her favorite part of her job is taking in the “wow” moment that occurs each and every time she shows a patient what the world looks like through their new prescription.
