A Minnesota native and graduate of Cannon Falls High School, Dr. Peterson attended Syracuse University and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Biology. He earned his Doctorate of Optometry at the University of Missouri-St. Louis College of Optometry, during which time he was recognized for excellence in contact lens patient care and clinical skills.
Away from the practice, Dr. Peterson likes to read mysteries based on historical fiction and relax on the North Shore of Lake Superior. He’s also a big fan of Minnesota sports teams and enjoys soccer, tennis, golf and ping-pong. He shares his life with his wife, who is a public health nurse.
Dr. Peterson’s fascination with the properties of light inspired him to pursue his career in optometry. “I knew that I wanted a career in healthcare,” he says. “I thought I should pursue work that I would find interesting each day.” For Dr. Peterson, the best part of being an Optometrist is witnessing people see and interpret the world with new clarity.
