Increasing your knowledge of eye health is very important to us, and with the recent legalization of medicinal marijuana usage in Minnesota, we wanted to take the opportunity to inform you of our position on this issue. Although we are aware that some forms of marijuana lower pressure in the eyes on a temporary basis, there is no scientific evidence that demonstrates increased benefit and/or diminished risk of use in the treatment of glaucoma. In fact, marijuana used for the treatment of glaucoma is far less effective than current available pharmaceutical agents. Therefore, we are not certifying any patient, new or established, at this time.
