Joshua King, M.D. is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in cornea, cataract, and refractive surgery. He is dedicated to providing compassionate, individualized care and helping patients achieve their best possible vision through advanced medical and surgical treatments.

Originally from Missouri, Dr. King earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology, graduating summa cum laude from Murray State University. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Missouri, where he also completed his ophthalmology residency. Following residency, Dr. King completed the prestigious Lindstrom Fellowship in cornea, cataract, and refractive surgery at Minnesota Eye Consultants, where he received advanced training in the diagnosis and treatment of complex corneal disease, cataract and refractive surgery, and ocular surface disorders.

Dr. King believes exceptional eye care begins with listening to each patient’s goals and concerns. He combines the latest surgical techniques with thoughtful, individualized treatment plans to help each patient achieve the best possible outcome. His clinical interests include cataract surgery, corneal disease, refractive surgery, ocular surface disease, and comprehensive ophthalmic care.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. King has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and presented his research at national and international scientific meetings. His academic work has focused on glaucoma surgery, laser procedures, and surgical outcomes. During his training, he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and received multiple academic honors recognizing his excellence in ophthalmology.

A former NCAA baseball player at Murray State University, Dr. King continues to enjoy an active lifestyle through hiking and weightlifting. In his free time, he enjoys reading, traveling, discovering new restaurants with his fiancée, and spending time outdoors.

Dr. King values the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with his patients and is passionate about improving quality of life through exceptional eye care. He is honored to care for patients throughout every stage of their vision journey and looks forward to serving the Twin Cities community at Northwest Eye’s Golden Valley, Maple Grove, and Wayzata locations.
